Subject: Aldermen back freebie reports

Why do aldermen think it is right to take free parking passes to memberships for exclusive golf clubs, and not report? Until of course approached on the subject by the media.

 

There should be transparency in all of the money or anything with a monetary value attached to it, a member of council recieves while in office and for their campaigns to be in office. That includes the mayor. This should be a non-starter

 

That way we will be able to see that decisions are based on their pure merit and the best interests of the taxpayers and not that of the council members owner.

 

I look forward to seeing either or both, Ric McIver or Ray Jones or Madeleine King, tabling a motion, that is retroactive, in regards to this matter. I would also hope that the local media publish the names of the council members who either put up roadblocks or vote against the motion.
