Conservative Leader Stephen Harper

Someone on the right wing of Canadian politics has to explain something to me, especially those based in Alberta and firm supporters of Conservative Leader Stephen Harper. Or the Editorial Board of the Calgary Sun.

If Reform/Alliance/Conservative Leader Stephen Harper wants to get elected to be Prime Minister how will he do it?

If the solutions to all of Alberta's problems lie in beating back those easterners and Ottawa people, so they leave our oil money alone, and let us play in our sandbox by ourselves, how will it work?

If Conservative Leader Stephen Harper is to win, he must win more, many more seats in Ontario and Quebec. Those are the same seats that are held by the hated Liberals from Ottawa.

Do you think Conservative Leader Stephen Harper can grow his popularity in Ontario by saying anything different than what Paul Martin's Liberals are saying?

Do you think Conservative Leader Stephen Harper will win seats if he uses the same old tired mantra of how bad Alberta is treated by the east?

So what is he going to tell the easterners to get them to vote for his Conservative Party?

I think a better question would be, how much will it cost the taxpayer for Harper's party to start a witch hunt over the $10,000 Pierre Pettigrew's spent on his chauffeur on two overseas trips? To me it makes sound sense to have someone travel with a senior minister of the Crown, to not only drive them around, but keep an eye out for possible problems, and to make sure the Minister is arriving safe and sound, and on time for their business. Keep in mind this is the Foreign Affairs Minister. Keep in mind we have troops in areas that are at war. Keep in mind their are people from those areas that do not want us there, and the Foreign Affairs Minister makes a perfect target to make their point with.

Conservative Leader Stephen Harper would be better served if his MP's got out from Ottawa and told Canadians why they should vote for them, what their policies and vision for Canada is, and not flip hamburgers.

Politics between the Liberals and conservatives is negatively ugly in Canada. It has been said that the things we hate most about others are the things we hate about ourselves. That would explain why they hate each other - they are so similar.

Maybe the consevatives are a little more leo liberal when it comes to economics, but socialy, they are slightly more old - fasioned.

What we really have is two clubs that want to grant their friends favours and in return get kickbacks. It´s time for something new.
